The Latest on COVID-19 and Elective Surgery

After a graded lifting of the restrictions I am glad to say that for the past 10 weeks all elective surgery procedures can now be performed without restrictions relating to COVID.

This applies to all category 1, 2 and 3 cases.  We are still screening all patients and visitors on entry into the hospital with temperature checks and the hospital has limited access for visitors. At the time of this post there have still been no active cases (staff or patient) through Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. I would still encourage everyone to be vigilant with regards to hand sanitisation and maintaining social distancing.  If you have any upper respiratory symptoms, fevers, or you are feeling generally unwell please get tested at your closest testing facility. Please notify my rooms if you have travelled to a COVID hotspot, or have been in contact with someone from a COVID hotspot, in the last 2 weeks.

Stay safe,

Luke.
